Lead times
For made-to-measure doors the lead time is [6 to 10 weeks]. It depends on the manufacturer and the chosen finish and colour. Concealed frames and non-standard sizes extend the lead time. We confirm the exact lead time in the quote.
For standard sizes the lead time is [3 to 4 weeks] for interior doors, [4 to 6 weeks] for security doors and [4 to 6 weeks] for fire doors.
The lead time starts [once the quote is confirmed and the deposit paid]. For made-to-measure doors, the measurement visit must also have taken place, as the measurements are part of the order to the manufacturer.
[No. We order every door from the manufacturer for the specific building. That way you are not limited to the models in a warehouse. As a result, the lead time is longer than when buying from stock.]
For standard sizes, usually [5 to 7 weeks]. For made-to-measure doors, usually [8 to 12 weeks]. This includes measurement, preparing the quote, production by the manufacturer, delivery and installation. We schedule installation as soon as the doors arrive.
Warranty
The warranty on doors is [5 years]. The warranty on installation is [5 years]. The warranty runs from the day of handover. At handover we provide a warranty certificate and care instructions.
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship and installation faults. It also covers door adjustment when this is the result of incorrect installation. Chargeable items are routine maintenance, work due to wear, damage from misuse and replacing a cylinder after a lost key. The warranty becomes void if you fit a part to the door that the manufacturer has not approved.
Lubricate the hinges and lock [once a year] with a suitable lubricant. Clean the seals with a damp cloth, without solvents. Clean wooden surfaces with a soft cloth, without abrasive cleaners. If the leaf sticks or does not seal well, the door needs adjusting. For fire doors and doors with multi-point locking we recommend a yearly inspection.
Choosing doors and about us
Interior doors separate rooms within a flat or house. Security doors protect the entrance to a flat or house against burglary. Fire doors separate a building's fire compartments and are required by its documentation. When renovating a flat you often need a combination: a security entrance door and made-to-measure interior doors.
Bertolotto is an Italian manufacturer of interior and fire doors, known for lacquered and veneered finishes and concealed frames. Dierre is an Italian manufacturer of security and fire doors, with classes RC2 to RC4 and fire resistance from EI30 to EI90. Padilla is a Spanish manufacturer of solid wood security and fire-rated entrance doors. We choose the right brand after the measurement visit, based on the type of building, the required class and the look you want.
The RC rating indicates burglar resistance under the EN 1627 standard. Class RC2 resists a break-in for about 3 minutes, RC3 for about 5 minutes and RC4 for about 10 minutes. The EI rating indicates fire resistance: the letter E stands for integrity, the letter I for insulation, and the number is the time in minutes. An EI30 door holds back fire and heat for 30 minutes. Both ratings apply to the whole door assembly, not just the leaf.
Yes. The on-site measurement is free and with no obligation. At the visit we measure the openings, check the condition of the frames and the wall thickness, and assess access for installation. We also advise on the choice of material, class and opening direction. After the visit we prepare a written quote with the final price.
Installation is done by our own team. We do not use subcontractors. The same team carries out the measurement, the installation and later servicing, so responsibility for the measurements and the work lies in one place.
We install throughout Slovenia and on the Croatian coast, working out of our showroom in Ljubljana. We measure at your property, whatever the region. For more distant locations, we combine measurement and installation into as few visits as possible.
Book a free measurement visit
At the measurement visit we tell you whether the new door fits the existing frame, how long installation takes and what it costs. The visit is free and with no obligation.
